Kevin Durant Traded to the Rockets!

Kevin Durant is officially a Houston Rocket!

In a huge trade, the Rockets have acquired the former MVP, 2x champion, and 15x all-star from the Phoenix Suns!

In return, the Suns will receive Jalen Green, Dillon Brooks, the 10th pick in the 2025 draft, and five second-round picks.

Rockets:

The Rockets have basically gone all in. They gave up a lot, but they got a superstar scorer in KD, reuniting him with former Nets Coach Ime Udoka. It could be considered a bit of a risky move, but if it works out, it could turn the Rockets, who already had the 2nd best record in the Western Conference, into real contenders for a championship.

At 36 years old, Durant is still an amazing player and brings scoring, leadership, and experience to a fairly young Rockets team.

Suns:

The Suns have sort of entered rebuild mode, even though they still have great players. From the trade, they get young talent and a lot of draft picks, but give up one of the league’s best players. This could turn out well in the future, but I don't see them being any better next season. They will likely trade Bradley Beal before next season as well.

It will be pretty exciting to see how far the Rockets and Suns can go with their new teams.

The Suns were expected to be a really good team since they had Kevin Durant, Devin Booker, and Bradley Beal. However, after not even making the playoffs this past season, it was clear that they needed a change, and Durant was likely to be traded.
