Is Bronny James (son of LeBron James) any good? Well, let’s take a look.

NBA

In his first year with the Lakers, Bronny played in 27 games. He averaged just 2.3 points, 0.7 rebounds, and 0.8 assists in a limited 6.7 minutes per game. He made just 31.3% of his shots and 28% of his three-point attempts.

It is hard to put up great stats in such limited minutes, but just based on the playing time he had, he didn’t look great.

G League

While his NBA minutes were limited, Bronny played much better as a starter in the G-League with the South Bay Lakers. In 11 games, he averaged a solid 22 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 assists. He made 44% of his shots and 38% of his three-point attempts.

Clearly, Bronny’s performance from the G-League hasn’t fully carried over to the NBA, but that’s hard to do on limited minutes.

In one NBA game where he played 38 minutes, he scored just 4 points on 20% shooting. However, in another game where he played 30 minutes, he scored 17 points on 70% shooting.

Overall, Bronny is currently inconsistent but is showing some signs of potentially being a good player.

What’s Next?

Going into his second season, Bronny’s challenge will be earning more minutes in the Lakers’ rotation. Bronny is only 20 years old, so he has plenty of time to make a good career for himself.
