Merry Christmas!
While there are no NBA games on Christmas Eve, there are always games on Christmas.
Here are the players who have scored the most points in a Christmas Day game:
Bernard King - 60 Points
Bernard King, one of the greatest Knicks of all time, holds the record for the most points scored on Christmas Day. On Christmas Day, in 1984, against the Nets, he scored 60 Points, 7 Rebounds, and 4 Assists, while making 63% of his shots.
The Knicks still ended up losing this game and ended the season with one of the worst records in the league.
Wilt Chamberlain - 59 Points
The second-highest scoring Christmas Day performance is Wilt Chamberlain, who scored 59 points against the Knicks in 1961. In this game, he also had 36 rebounds, which is the Christmas Day record.
In 1961, Chamberlin averaged an insane 50 points and 26 rebounds, and somehow didn’t win MVP.
Luka Doncic- 50 Points
Tied for the 3rd highest scoring game on Christmas is Luka Doncic, who scored 50 points against the Suns in 2023. This was a very strong game for Luka, as he also had 15 assists, 6 rebounds, 4 steals, and 3 blocks.
During this game, he also crossed the 10,000 career points milestone, making him one of the fastest active players to do so.
Rick Barry- 50 Points
Rick Barry also scored 50 on Christmas Day. On Christmas in 1966, Rick Barry had 50 points, 6 rebounds, and 4 assists against the Royals (now the Sacramento Kings)
In 1966, Rick Barry led the NBA in scoring with 35.6 points per game and led the Warriors to the NBA finals.
That's all for now, folks! ✌️
