With the first pick in the 2025 NBA draft, the Dallas Mavericks have selected Cooper Flagg, the 6-foot-9, 18-year-old from Duke University.
This did not really surprise anybody, as everybody knew Cooper Flagg was going to be drafted first.
In fact, multiple weeks before the draft, the Mavericks already had a "Cooper Flagg - Welcome to Dallas" message up on their website, which just confirmed what everybody pretty much knew already.
What did come as a surprise, however, is that the Mavericks even had the first pick in the draft. In fact, they had less than a 2% chance of getting the first pick, but they somehow did!
In his one season at Duke, Flagg averaged:
19.2 Points
7.5 Rebounds
4.2 Assists
1.4 Blocks
1.4 Steals
48% Shooting
Cooper Flag will now team up with all-stars Kyrie Irving and Anthony Davis, which could make for a really exciting trio.
Kyrie and Anthony Davis have actually only played 1 game together as teammates so far because they both got injured.
However, if they can all stay healthy, this Mavericks team could turn into serious contenders.
Some Cooper Flagg highlights:
That's all for now, folks ✌️
