NBA Free Agency started a few days ago, so trades, extensions and signings have all been happening recently. Nothing super big has happened recently but there are still a few things worth noting:
Free Agency:
Spencer Dinwiddie has agreed to a one-year deal with the Charlotte Hornets. Dinwiddie averaged 11 points, 4 assists, and 3 rebounds for the Mavericks this past season.
Deandre Ayton is signing a two-year deal with the Los Angeles Lakers. Ayton averaged 14 points and 10 rebounds, on 60% shooting for the Trail Blazers this past season.
Jock Landale has signed with the Memphis Grizzlies. He averaged 5 points and 3 rebounds in 12 minutes off the bench for the Houston Rockets this past season.
Trades:
The Houston Rockets are trading Cam Whitmore to the Washington Wizards for 2 second-round picks. Whitmore averaged 9 points in 16 minutes off the bench this past season.
The Memphis Grizzlies are trading Jay Huff to the Indiana Pacers for one second-round pick and one second-round pick swap. The Pacers are likely trading for him because they just lost their main center, Myles Turner, to the Bucks in Free Agency.
Extensions:
Dante Exum has agreed to a one-year extension with the Dallas Mavericks. He averaged 9 points, 3 assists, and 2 rebounds off the bench this past season.
Mo Wagner has agreed to a one-year, $5M extension with the Orlando Magic. Wagner averaged 13 points in 19 minutes off the bench last season.
Jaxson Hayes has agreed to a 1 year extension with the Los Angeles Lakers.
Other:
The New York Knicks have hired 2x Coach of the Year Mike Brown as their new head coach. In his first season, Mike Brown led the Kings to the playoffs for the first time since 2006, and it is thought that he will be a pretty good addition to the Knicks.
While Free Agency seems to already be slowing down there are still a lot of big names remaining in free agency.
Some notable remaining free agents include:
Josh Giddey
Quentin Grimes
Jonathan Kuminga
Chris Paul
Al Horford
Cam Thomas
Russel Westbrook
That’s all for now, folks ✌️
That seems to be a lot of news!
